Highly elastic upper that creates stability and fit
The upper material of COSMORACER MD 2 is equipped with a new material called "HL-0 mesh," co-developed by Toray Industries, Inc. and the ASICS Sports Engineering Research Institute. Its characteristic is "elasticity." The material stretches and contracts according to the shape of your foot, providing a stable fit during ground contact. Additionally, the laces also have elasticity, allowing those who prefer to tie their shoes tightly to do so smoothly. Not only does it stretch, but it is also made of a highly durable material, providing stability that does not waver upon ground contact and making the upper resistant to tearing, which is one of the amazing features of COSMORACER MD 2. It allows for stable running on curves.

Protective design that reduces shifting during ground contact
The upper is designed to be narrower near the heel, with a structure that allows for some room around the ball of the foot. It is structured to fit the shape of Japanese feet, and many may feel a good fit. Additionally, the function that creates stability during ground contact is equipped not only in the new material but also in the instep area (eyelet area) and heel area. The instep area (eyelet area) uses a material called DYNAWRAP, which functions to secure the instep by wrapping it when the laces are tied. The heel area is equipped with a protective plate that suppresses heel shifting, supporting excellent fit and stability during ground contact.

Pin design that promotes short ground contact
◆ About the Pins The number of pins is 5, which is fewer compared to other manufacturers' middle-distance spikes. (Reference: NIKE Mamba V, MIZUNO Geo Splash 7: 6 pins) The pin arrangement has been shifted from the toe side towards the ball of the foot compared to the previous model. This makes it easier to land with an inner center of gravity (ball of the foot) compared to the previous model. ◆ About the Sole It uses a highly resilient plate among middle-distance spikes, with a structure that covers from the toe to the heel with a single plate. Generally, middle-distance spike plates enhance flexibility to reduce fatigue, so they only cover the forefoot, making this a middle-distance spike focused on sprinting. In terms of resilience, it is top-tier among middle-distance spikes, second only to Adizero MD.

A balanced type well-regarded for both forefoot and flat running styles
Regarding the curvature of the sole, it is somewhat flat. It has been adjusted to be slightly flatter compared to the previous model, COSMORACER MD. Compared to adizero md, it has a flatter curvature, so for those who prioritize resilience and are considering adizero md with a slight preference for flatter ground contact, I recommend choosing COSMORACER MD2. Additionally, it uses a material called "FLYTEFOAM" in the midsole, achieving a 55% weight reduction compared to conventional sponge materials, making it notably lightweight. The amount of resin used is also less than half of the conventional amount, making it a sustainable product.
