The upper uses a thin single mesh material, combined with the open mesh DRAINING SYSTEM featuring countless ventilation holes, to exhibit excellent breathability. It is designed to effectively and quickly expel water that enters the spikes in the water pit of the 3000m SC, making it very strong in wet conditions. It features an increased number of drainage holes compared to the previous Gunlap SC model. Additionally, the texture of the tongue is very pleasant, with a silky feel that reduces stress on the top of the foot and creates a snug fit. When worn in the 3000m SC, it feels like it fits the foot securely even without socks, as the socks would become wet and heavy from water.
A sturdy upper that minimizes lateral movement during landing due to the hardness of the material
The sizing is considerably smaller, so a size 0.5 cm larger than other spikes would be just right. The actual feel when worn shows that the upper material has a slight stiffness. The COSMORACER LD2, Mamba V, and Matumbo offer better comfort. However, due to the slightly stiffer upper of the Gunlap 2, it becomes easier to stabilize upon landing after a hurdle jump in the 3000m SC, allowing for a reliable upper that can handle impact.
Nylon plate sole that combines flexibility and rebound power
The pins come with five replaceable metal 5mm pins in a dual parallel column design. The outer sole features a nylon plate that combines flexibility with moderate rebound. Among Japanese manufacturers like ASICS and MIZUNO, it is the spike with the highest rebound power for long-distance running. It is very hard, particularly feeling the rebound in the forefoot. Despite its high rebound characteristics, the sole has a split structure with separate plates on the right and left sides, resulting in high flexibility. Therefore, it is a sole that makes it easy to generate the necessary speed to clear hurdles while receiving moderate rebound during the run before jumping.
Sole with a shape that is easy to step onto and has an incline
The curvature of the sole is slightly pronounced, designed for easy ground contact at the forefoot. It has the same curvature angle as the NIKE Zoom Matumbo 3 and Air Zoom Victory. Additionally, the midsole features FYLTEFORM, providing lightweight cushioning that reduces strain on the feet during long distances. The actual feel when worn gives a solid sense of cushioning at the heel.
